Head Unit re-location !!!!!

I would really appreciate it if everyone visiting this page would leave me some feedback. Please post your feedback by clicking here.

As of today i have successfully separated the face plate and head unit. Since the stock radio location will be covered up by the in dash monitor, the head unit will be installed in the glove box, and the face plate will be installed inthe overhead control panel.

To separate the two, used Cat5 wire and standard Cat5 connectors. I soldered the ends of the wire to the connection terminals on the head unit and face plate paying very very close attention to make sure the wire colors match up. One wrong connection and the head unit is toast !!!!!

The picture above shows the final setup with a custom made Cat5 cable to connect the face plate to the head unit.

Now comes time to test my handy work. This was a make or break moment for me. If it works, i do the chicken dance, if it doesnt work, i cry till tomorrow and go back to the drawing board. Well i will let the pictures tell you if it worked or not.
